Unit Coordinator, Kitchen Maintenance Unit- The Denbigh House

At The Denbigh House and Community Brain Injury Services we serve individuals that have sustained a life altering brain injury. We work with individuals to regain independence, rebuild self-confidence, fully re-engage in their community, and recover the work skills and behaviors needed to return to competitive employment.

The Position:

The Denbigh House is seeking a Unit Coordinator responsible for coordinating daily work and program activities at the Clubhouse, helping program members develop coping strategies for cognitive, sensory, physical and/or emotional disability, providing case management services, and assisting members in achieving their goals and aspirations. Tasks within the work unit contribute to the Clubhouse, but also offer program members the opportunity to develop and practice everything from independent living skills to social skills to work skills. Unit Coordinators manage a caseload and provide service planning to members within the Clubhouse.

The Unit Coordinator position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a human-services related field, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Rehab Counseling. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to work as a part of a team, facilitate group and individual activities within the work Unit and in the community, and develop creative and person-centered service plans with individuals. Prior experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required. We are seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Kitchen Unit so a love for cooking- and sharing that passion with others, is also a plus!

Business hours are generally between 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday, but evening hours may be required once per month for recreational programming.

The salary for this position is $40,000/annually and includes a robust benefits package. Benefits for full-time employees at Community Brain Injury Services include the following:

– Health insurance (organization covers over 60% of individual employee’s coverage)

– Dental and vision insurance

– 403B retirement plan with employer match

– 15 vacation days/per year, increasing to 18 vacation days/per year after 2 years employment

– 3 days of personal leave per year (prorated for first year based on date of hire)

– 9 days of sick leave per year

– Winter Break holiday- all offices and programs are closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and paid leave is provided for all employees

– 9 paid holidays

Community Engagement Coordinator, Community Brain Injury Services

Brain Injury Services is currently hiring for the position of Community Engagement Coordinator:

Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for marketing, outreach, and community engagement, and the support of development and fundraising activities of CBIS.

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:

Job Duties and Activities:

In accordance with the vision and mission of Community Brain Injury Services, the Community Engagement Coordinator will:

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Prepare and execute an annual marketing plan in line with strategic goals
  • Develop and execute a strategic social media plan to raise the profile of CBIS in our communities
  • Plan and execute promotional strategies for fundraising events and community outreach activities
  • Create engaging content for digital platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters and e-mail.
  • Develop, coordinate, and staff marketing and community outreach activities in all CBIS service areas
  • Develop and manage relationships with local media for organizational promotion
  • Write, edit and distribute press releases, articles, and other content to promote organizational events and initiatives.
  • Analyze engagement on digital marketing and website metrics to track effectiveness of communications.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on outreach activities, social media metrics, website engagement and other key performance indicators.
  • Identify and develop partnerships that will help amplify the organization’s mission and increase support

Fundraising/Development:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of CBIS annual fundraising events.
  • Process donations in donor database and create thank you letters for each donor
  • Coordinate solicitation of donations in conjunction with events
  • Grow and manage organizational fundraising communications and online profiles, including Constant Contact, social media, and print
  • Assist with the administrative aspects of donor/client data in the database
  • Assist with completing grant proposals and grant funding reports
  • Assist in the creation of fundraising campaigns, including donor appeals and sponsorship solicitations.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field is required.  An ideal candidate will also have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in marketing, outreach, or communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.   We are looking for someone with strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.  Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.  Must have experience with various software to include databases, Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms, Canva, and e-marketing. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in non-profit development, marketing, and communications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and be capable of managing multiple projects at once. Candidate must possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods in fundraising, development, and marketing.

Work Schedule:

The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is a full-time position. Work schedule will be determined with manager but will generally be between 9a-5p, Monday-Friday.  Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required to accommodate the coordination of fundraising events and community engagement opportunities.
