A Black and White Affair

Dancing the Night Away!

Our Clubhouse programs, The Denbigh House and The Mill House, each coordinate a monthly social program event.  The Clubhouse members work together to choose a new activity and restaurant and truly enjoy the opportunity for social bonding and camaraderie. By far, the most popular social program of the year is the joint program between Clubhouses. In the past, members of The Mill House and The Denbigh House have celebrated holiday socials and attended baseball games together.

Ready to dance the night away

Members and staff of The Mill House arrive!

This year, the members of both Clubhouses wanted to really shake things up. As a result, the idea of a semi-formal dance was proposed and it took off from there. After months of planning, The Denbigh House hosted “A Black and White Affair” at the Denbigh Community Center in Newport News on July 21st. Members of The Mill House and The Beacon House, a Virginia Beach Clubhouse for survivors of brain injury, joined the members, families, and friends of The Denbigh House to dance the night away!

Dancing the Night Away

Members of The Denbigh House- dressed to the nines!

Over 60 guests attended and danced to the greatest hits provided by a local DJ. DJ Hollywood was kind enough to offer a greatly reduced rate to help us keep our costs low. Members and staff agreed that everyone loved the photo booth most of all!  The photo booth allowed us to commemorate such an enjoyable event with pictures.

Community Brain Injury Services hopes to make A Black and White Affair an annual event!
