Accessible Garden Grand Opening

Paving a Path Back to Good Life:

The Denbigh House Accessible Garden Project Allows
Individuals with Brain Injury
the Opportunity to Return to Gardening

The Denbigh House members and staff are pleased invite you to The Denbigh House for the Garden Grand Opening on April 27, 2017 from 2pm -5pm to celebrate the completion of the accessible garden project. A presentation to recognize supporters and funders will be made at 3pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Prior to 2017, an act as simple as tending to The Denbigh House garden was impossible for Clubhouse members who used wheelchairs, walkers or struggled with balance. Through the generous support of the Altria Companies Employee Community Fund, the First United Methodist Church of Newport News Foundation, the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation of Newport News, Outdoor Kitchen Creations, and many generous individual donors, The Denbigh House was able to address this accessibility barrier by completing a multi-year project to install new back doors and a paved back patio. The newly completed patio includes raised garden beds, wheelchair accessible planters and a wheelchair accessible picnic table.

Members and staff at The Denbigh House are working hard to prepare the garden for the Grand Opening!

Please join us on Thursday, April 27th from 2pm-5pm to celebrate the completion of this tremendous accessibility project.  The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to Jessica Dupuy at 757-833-7845 or jessica@communitybraininjury.org.  The Denbigh House is located at 12725 McManus Blvd. Suite 2E, Newport News, VA 23602
